Elafonisi Beach
Elafonissi is an island located near the southwestern tip of the Mediterranean island of Crete, which is administratively part of the regional unit of Chania. When the weather is good, it is possible to walk across the shallow waters that separate it from mainland Crete. The island is a protected nature reserve, classified as a landscape of outstanding natural beauty and a Natura site along with the opposite coast. The island has sandy beaches with pink sand.
Cedar forest (Kedrodasos)
Kedrodasos covers a large area of about 110 acres and is a beautiful place. The beach has white sand and some smooth rocks. Kedrodasos is an amazing beach located 76km southwest of Chania and just 1km west of the famous beach at Elafonissi. The beach is filled with juniper or sea buckthorn trees and sand dunes, reminiscent of a tropical beach.
Balos
Balos is a lagoon located on the peninsula of Gramvousa, at the northwestern tip of Crete. It is administratively part of the municipality of Kissamos and is 17 km from Kastelli Kissamos. The lagoon is located between the peninsula of Gramvousa with the mountain range of Geroskinos and the rocky peninsula of Tigani. It is characterised by shallow waters and white sand, which is pink in places due to the presence of broken shells and coral. The beach is one of the 10 best in Europe
Falassarna
Falassarna is located 59 km west of Chania and 12 km west of Kissamos. Today it is one of the most famous destinations in Crete, both for its beaches and for reasons of ecological interest. Falassarna has been included in the Natura 2000 plans, due to the diversity of flora and fauna in the area and its particular natural beauty. Falassarna beach is one of the 10 best beaches in Europe.
